We are a small local business focused on getting our clients to achieve and surpass their fitness goals. We pride ourselves on getting to know each client for a truly personal experience. We take a coach-like approach by not only walking our clients through workouts, but teaching each client the "why" behind it. We have found this approach helps create healthy habits that will continue, even if our sessions end.

Craig Cook - Head Coach/Owner


Background: I started getting into fitness through sports. It started back in 2015, when I was a senior in high school trying to get bigger- faster- stronger. I went on to play college soccer and that is where my love for weightlifting exploded. Throughout college, I went through various sport-specific workouts as well as a combination of bodybuilding and powerlifting (my meathead era). In my "meathead era," I found myself encouraging and bringing my teammates along with me to the gym. I enjoyed seeing changes in their mood and physic as well as their excitement when hitting new PRs. After I graduated, I became a police officer because I wanted to help people. During the last 6 years, I never stopped or fell out of love with fitness. I found myself, yet again, trying to encourage my colleagues to come to the gym to help them lose weight and be better suited for the job. In recent years, I have wanted to start this business to continue helping people become healthier, happier, and not in so much pain. Whether that is losing weight so you can play with your kids/grandkids or putting on muscle to make your job and overall life easier, I want to help.
I received my Personal Trainer Certification, and my Strength and Conditioning Specialist Certification from International Sports Science Association (ISSA).
Why this business model: I have structured my business with life in mind. I understand (by doing it myself) that with a full-time job, with kids or without, fitness and health can fall on the backburner. If you are local, I want to come to you to help with your time constraints to make health and fitness more convenient. We also offer online training for those who like going to a commercial/home gym, but might feel lost creating an optimal workout plan or are stuck in a plateau. We do offer a combination of the two for those who fit in both categories. Being an athlete at heart, I will offer sport-specific training for those who are serious about their sport and want to take their performance to the next level. Living in Fluvanna for the last 18 years, I have noticed these three aspects have been missing from this area and I want to help fill these holes in our community.
My approach to fitness: I am always looking at current studies and learning any way I can to ensure I can provide the most help possible. At the moment, I believe in a combination approach between science-based workouts and lifting heavy weights. I structure my workouts with a warm up, the workout, and a cool down that includes stretching. In my opinion, this structure works well for most and can prevent injuries, while keeping a healthy balance between being flexible and strong.
